District 27 Meeting Dear D27 Members, I have been able to get a venue and schedule our first D-27 meeting. We are scheduled to meet on Monday, April 16th at 7:00PM. Agenda will include approval of minutes from our recent convention and going over what to expect at the state convention and how to be most effective in advancing your planks and resolutions in platform committees. The meeting place is Rabbit Creek Community Church, 3401 Rabbit Creek Road, Anchorage, AK 99516. I'm also happy to announce that Rebecca Logan will be our guest instructor. She will provide convention training for all of our district delegates and alternates. We expect the meeting to last one hour, with all but 5-10 minutes of the agenda devoted to Rebecca's presentation. We will conclude the meeting with an update on the progress of school choice legislation, HJR 16 and HB 145. If you have additional agenda items please send them to me so I can include them on the agenda. We will plan the meeting for one hour. Thank you for your participation in the convention last month. Alaska Federation of Republican Women Are you an incumbent running for re-election to the Legislature or a new candidate for the school board, local Assembly or the Legislature? Are you thinking of running for office sometime in the future or volunteering on a political campaign and eager to learn the basics? Take advantage the Alaska Federation of Republican Women’s one-day training session, Campaigns 101. Scheduled in conjunction with the 2012 Alaska Republican Party state convention, the full-day campaign school will give you the tools you need to engage effectively in the political process. Campaigns 101 will be anchored by Republican political consultant Holly Robichaud. Holly’s résumé includes 23 years managing campaigns at the local, state and federal levels. As a fundraiser, she has set records for statewide and local campaigns and Political Action Committees. Writing as “The Lone Republican,” Holly’s column can be found every Monday in the Boston Herald. Designed to incorporate both time-tested “universal” elements like message development, media and GOTV, Campaigns 101 will also be Alaska-specific when it comes to the important areas of campaign disclosure, fundraising and Alaska’s public employee unions. We want our Republican candidates – men and women alike – to run efficient, well-organized grassroots campaigns. Republican District chairs and officers are also encouraged to attend. I hope you take advantage of this opportunity to educate your 2012 campaign team to be competitive and successful Sincerely, |
