Convention Resolutions
Education
Be it resolved: The Federal Department of Education be abolished.
Be it resolved: The State of Alaska reject Federal control of and accept no Federal funds for education.
Be it resolved: The State of Alaska and United States Constitutions should be taught in depth.
Constitutional Rights
Be it resolved: We believe that political speech is free speech and oppose efforts to restrict campaign expenditures.
Be it resolved: There should be no “riders” on Bills in the State Legislature or the United States Congress.
Be it resolved: The Constitution of the United States is the Supreme Law of the land and government shall not exceed the limits contained therein.
Judiciary
Be it resolved: The Alaska Republican Party supports removing Alaska from the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals.
Be it resolved: The Alaska Republican Party supports shortening the time between judicial retention elections in Alaska to no more than 4 years, with retention elections to be held by venue district.
Be it Resolved: The Alaskan Republican Party supports a change to the Alaska Constitution that would eliminate the practice of the Alaska Judicial Council to limit its list of potential appointees to only those it finds qualified. The Council could still give its rating, but the Governor could choose its nominee from all applicants.
Be it Resolved: The Alaska Republican Party strongly supports the rule of law. However, we oppose giving non-citizens committing acts of terrorism against our country Miranda warnings and access to defense lawyers at the government expense.
Be it Resolved: The state of Alaska is in non-compliance with the Constitution of the United States and has never admitted Counselors at Law to practice in any State Court, the Alaska Republican Party supports the re-introduction and admission of Counselors at Law as an element of trial by jury in all criminal proceedings.
Be it Resolved: We the Alaska Republican Party will not accept any candidate for the office of President of the United States who is not a natural born citizen as provided in Article II of the U.S. Constitution.
Personhood Initiative
Whereas “ We hold these truths to be self evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness”(The Declaration of Independence),
Whereas the Alaska Republican Party principles and platform recognize that,
“The rights to life, liberty, and property are bestowed by our Creator. It is the responsibility of government to protect those rights. The right to life exists from the moment of conception until natural death, and every human being deserves protection under the law.”
Whereas the Alaska Personhood Initiative declares, “Be it enacted by the People of the State of Alaska that all human beings, from the beginning of their biological development as human organisms, including the single-cell embryo, regardless of age, health, level of functioning, condition of dependency or method of reproduction, shall be recognized as legal persons in the state of Alaska.”
Be it resolved: The Alaska Republican Party supports passage of the Alaska Personhood Initiative and encourages all Alaskans to sign the currently circulating petition and vote in favor of its passage on Election Day in 2012.
Israel
Be it resolved: The Alaska Republican Party recognizes the Nation of Israel as a sovereign nation. The Alaska Republican Party supports the right of the nation of Israel to protect its borders and its people.
Voting
Whereas: voter fraud has been rampant across our country; with some university students bragging about voting numerous times in the same election:

Be it resolved: The Alaska Republican Party supports requiring photo ID for voting in the local, state, and national elections.
